Suggestions for Use:The guided meditation can be
used in one sitting (approximately 48 minutes) or as separate
exercises. Use them whenever you can take
time away from your busyness or anxious preoccupations. The
meditations will help you to unwind and to rest your body, mind and
spirit. Each mindful meditation can be
applied to your daily life. In the first exercise, the practice
of attending to your senses will encourage you to be awake to the
sensory experiences of your daily activities. In the second
exercise, the progressive body relaxation, you become awake to your
body and the places where tension is stored. During your day, you
can do a body check for areas of tightness to release the
tension. Even in the midst of panic, focussing on the breath can
bring incredible stillness and peace. I encourage you to adopt
the practice of mindfulness as a meditation and as a way of attending
to life's experiences. I hope it opens for you, as much as it has
for me, a new way of being. Note: This CD is intended
to relax the mind so do not play while driving a vehicle. Also,
after you have listened to the exercises, be sure to take time to
refocus on your body by moving slowly before you resume your regular
activities. The mindful meditation is not a substitute for
therapy but rather, it is an aid in relaxation. |
