In May 1999 I ran my first half marathon
(that's 13.1 miles or 21 km),
the ScotiaBank Half Marathon in Ottawa, Ontario.

This was a landmark achievement for me.

Here is a photo of my sprinting finish.
Please notice my smile. I sure was glad to be almost done!

	In May 2000 Howard and I ran our second half marathon. This is a picture of the two of us before the race. We had a great time and finished in 2:26:29 (chip time), almost 12 minutes faster than last year. WooHoo! We also finished a few minutes ahead of the ladies marathon winner which was one of my goals for the day.
Here is a photo of the Clydesdales who gathered for the National Capital Race weekend in May 2000. Distances ranging from 5K to the marathon were raced and great fun was had by all.
