I am still happily married to a Computer Engineer named Andre.
We will soon be celebrating our 11th wedding anniversary (Sept 12, 2003)
and are amazed by how quickly time flies. We don't have any kids but
we are still hopeful. In the meantime we try to be adoring Auntie
and Uncle (we have 5 nieces and one nephew plus our friends kids to spoil).
That is fun in itself.
June 1st - We traded in our first car (1993 Maxda 323 with 142,000 km on it) and bought a beautiful new blue Protege 5.
June 2nd we became godparents to Devon Spencer Williams.
June 7-16th we visited London to attend the baptism of our twin nieces Alexa and Jenna on June 9th. We also spent some time visiting with our friends and Andre's family, including baby Pierre. As usual, it was a whirlwind tour of London but we had a great time. Carlene even managed to participate in a 5K race (I have a report here).
June 16 - Lillian visited with Jack, Hanna, Dora and Alena and sent us some photos of the family.
June 7-16th - We also visited Mark in his London apartment for the last time. Soon Mark will be here in Ottawa attending Carleton University for PhD studies. WOO HOO! While were were there Mark was busy photographing his apartment. Here are some photos of Mark (what a cutie) and Carlene getting an internet fix.
During the winter of 1997-98 we had our basement finished by Blom Design and Associates. The
architect for our project was Chuck Mills (architect).
Chuck and Donna Smeaton worked with Andre and I to create a basement that
incorporated all our needs: space to entertain and relax, storage, a bathroom
and a laundry room customized to support my new Stained Glass hobby.
The basement construction was contracted out and overseen by Moneca Kaiser (who did an
AWESOME job!). Our basement was entered in the 1998 Fall Home Builder Awards
(associated with the Fall home show and Ottawa-Carleton Home Builders Association)
and won the basement renovation category. Here are some photos of our
basement. We particularly like the fireplace and the beautiful woodworking
done by Karhu Woodworking of Carleton Place. (Thanks Eric for doing
such a great job!)
