The club is
co-ordinated by dedicated volunteer athletes who
oversee each weekly
workout. Our leaders are:
-
Sue
Armstrong started running in 1999 with a goal
of being able to run
2 km
every day with her dog. She then moved on to
marathons, running Boston
in 2002, and now also competes in ultra marathons.
Sue was the woman
Canadian 24-hour champion in 2004 and 2005, and
competed on the
Canadian team at the 2007 24-hour World Cup. Sue's
favorite part of
running is the great new friends you meet!
- Heather
Caughey
marathon
runner extra-ordinaire.
-
Andrea
McGowan runner and triathlete. Look for
her constant smile :)
- Carlene
Paquette
has competed in
road races ranging from 5K to the
marathon. She has also
completed one
Ultra, completing 64K in 12 hours. In the
past she has also
competed in duathlon events. A solid back to
mid-pack runner, she is
particularly keen on mentoring new runners.
- Ray Wong has
run a handful of half
and full marathons. Although the grey hair
is
creeping in, he's trying hard to deny the aging
process by being active
with running, cycling, playing hockey and coaching
his son's hockey and
daughter's ringette teams. He's happy to run
with runners of all abilities
and
enjoys encouraging anyone that will listen.
